MALA RE-KNOTTING & REPAIR | 108 Beads, Hand-Knotted & Re-Finished

This listing is for disassembling and rebuilding your original handmade mala using its existing gemstones if the cord has broken or become worn. Each of the 108 beads is individually hand-knotted on a continuous cord, so the entire mala must be disassembled and re-knotted rather than repairing only the broken section.

The mala is remade using new high quality German nylon bead cord. If your original mala has a silk tassel, a new Japanese silk tassel will be made and tied onto the mala during the finishing process. The original tassel cannot be reused because it is made and attached as part of the final finishing of the mala.

• Re-knotting all 108 beads using new German nylon bead cord
• Making a new Japanese silk tassel if your original mala has a tassel
• Re-making the beaded ends if your original mala has beaded ends
• Replacement of a small number of missing beads, provided suitable matching beads are available

How the Repair Works

• Contact us with a photo showing your entire mala, including the broken area
• Click on the Mala Re-knotting & Repair listing and submit your order
• Carefully package your mala and send it to us using tracked delivery. Please let us know once it’s shipped and provide the tracking number so we can look out for it.
• Once we receive your mala, we will inspect the beads and let you know if anything additional is required
• We will re-knot your mala and finish it with a new Japanese silk tassel or re-made beaded ends to match your original mala
• Your re-knotted mala will be carefully packaged and returned to you with standard tracked shipping and signature on delivery

Important Information

This service is for re-knotting the entire mala, rather than repairing only the area where the cord has broken.

The $190 AUD service fee does not include shipping. Customers are responsible for the cost of sending their mala to us, and the return shipping fee is added separately through the shipping option at checkout.

Natural gemstone beads may have existing chips, fractures, inclusions, scratches or other characteristics from your original mala and previous use. The gemstone beads themselves are not altered, polished or repaired as part of this service. We will handle your mala with care, but any existing characteristics or imperfections of the beads will remain as they are.

If a larger number of beads are missing, or any beads are severely damaged and require replacement, we will contact you with the additional cost for your approval before proceeding.

The unfinished mala shown in the photo is an example of the hand-knotting process and is not included.
