BLACK OBSIDIAN PENDANT MALA

Handmade with high quality, grade AA, genuine (natural and undyed) Black Obsidian and gold plated jewellery findings and bead spacers.

Each mala will come with a free polyester pouch and a mala user guidelines brochure.

Use this mala as a tool to help your mind focus during meditation or wear it for grounding, protection and healing support.

This mala features 108 Black Obsidian counting beads and a Black Obsidian pendant set in light gold plated brass. It is accented by 24K gold plated bead spacers.

This mala can also be made with a different pendant instead of the Black Obsidian teardrop (see the 8th photo for available pendants).

This mala is made using traditional hand knotting technique to assist meditation while increasing flexibility and durability of the mala. Each of the 108 beads is hand knotted onto high quality black German nylon bead cord.

There is no industrial standard for the gemstone bead size, therefore the beads you will receive may vary in size, ranging from 7.5mm to 8.5mm. However, i will endeavour to handpick high quality and select beads that are very similar size when knotting your mala.

108 counting beads - genuine Black Obsidian (grade AA, 7.5mm - 8.5mm, round, smooth)

Knot between beads - hand knotted using high quality nylon bead cord made in Germany

Bead spacer - 24K gold plated brass (7x1.5mm and 2x2x2mm)

Jump ring - 24K gold plated stainless steel (7x1.2mm)

Mala General Information:
Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning garland, which is a strand of beads traditionally used by Hindus, Buddhists, and yoga practitioners during meditation. Malas are also referred to as mala beads, Buddhist beads or Buddhist prayer beads. Malas are typically made with 18, 21, 27, 54 or 108 beads. Traditionally, malas are made of 108 beads plus a guru bead and a tassel attached to the guru bead.

Mala Use:
Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra. This practice is known in Sanskrit as japa. Malas help connect your physical body to your mind while you are using mantra or prayer recitation as part of your meditation. You can wear your mala everyday when not used as a constant reminder of the thing you are working towards or to benefit from its natural and powerful attributes. Aside from its main spiritual use, Mala can be used as an accessory; they make beautiful necklaces and bracelets. 108 mala beads are used in traditional mediation and can be worn as a necklace and 21 or 27 mala beads are often used in shorter meditations and can be worn as a bracelet.

Gemstone General Information:
All of my gemstone bracelets are handmade from genuine (natural and undyed) gemstones. These gemstones are either mineral crystals, rocks or organic materials. Due to the naturality, these gemstone may have tiny flaws (inclusions) and may vary slightly in clarity. Meanwhile, cutting and polishing also makes every piece of gemstone slightly differ in colour and size. Images provided may have a variation in colour due to different monitor pixelation.

Gemstone Grading:
Grade GEM - highest quality (very rare and very expensive)
Grade AAA - 2nd highest quality (rare and expensive)
Grade AA - 3rd highest quality (likely found and expensive for some types of gemstones)
Grade A - 4th highest quality (likely found and affordable)
Grade AB - quality is between grade A and grade B but it is not a standard grade
Grade B - 5th highest quality (likely found and affordable)
Standard (no grade) - commonly found for all types of gemstones and very affordable
